Anything

Anything

Daniel Abreu, one of the most interesting Spanish choreographers and dancers, realized the Anything performance together with the Zagreb Dance Company and Split Summer Festival guest performance is realized thanks to Croatian Dance Network. This ballet was premiered in 2013 and since then Zagreb Dance Company has danced it ten times at festivals and theaters in Slovenia (Španski borci Culture Center), Poland (Zawirowania Dance Festival) and in Croatia (Days of Contemporary Dance in Varažlin; Karlovac Dance Festival 004; 16th Dance and Non-verbal Theatre Festival San Vincenti).

The author pictures the performance as a sequence of images from life - bodies of six dancers represent the very life, its real and less real aspects: “This is a dance of living bodies in an empty space. The piece begins in the internal world of a young woman. It starts with a  woman because, although not alone, she is the only one who can give life, human life. And it ends with a man, because, although alone, he is not the only one who will die. And between them Anything could happen: love, happiness, separation and being together as the opposites of the emptiness of this world. It works its way to the altitudes in high heels and drops to the crawl of snakes through gestures, tics, embraces, need to love and be loved, and through fight. A world that responds directly to the eye and the ear. From there, it travels to places which could belong to dreams.
