The Green

The Green

By borrowing its name from medieval theater slang for the stage, The Green promises visually powerful theater that utilizes stage magic, video projections, film sound, and stage compositions as its expressive tools. Director and performer Kalle Nio starts from a contemporary sense of emptiness and combines it with references to 19th-century spiritualism and magic. The void of the empty stage and green background slowly transforms into a living character that takes over the stage area. By combining 19th-century stage magic techniques with the latest video and sound technology, this "wordless performance" mood ranges from everyday to abstract and magical.
