Lupinism - exhibition

Stephan Lupino

As part of the art program of Split Summer Festival, from 29th of July to 17th of August photography lovers will have an opportunity to see provocative exhibition by Stephan Lupino at the Split Photo Gallery in Marmontova Street

Stephan Lupino

The artist who, from his very beginnings has chosen shock as his doctrine to decrypt the world we live in, exhibits a series of nudes, portraits and photos of his sculptures depicting the world, at least from the perspective of his objective, as a string of seemingly unrelated episodes with a Person as the main character, character with a thousand faces (and bodies), each of them provocative in their own way.

 - Lupinism provokes. Lupinism provokes with photographs of futility of the alleged glamour. Photos of the night demi-monde. Photographs of transvestites, whores, hermaphrodite. Photos of gorgeous super models with blank looks on their faces. It provokes with hope, pain, sadness, fear, despair and resignation in the eyes of terminally ill children. It provokes with women who are actually men and men who are actually women. It provokes with sculptures which are actually photographs, with images that are reliefs, with furniture which is a sculpture. It provokes emphasizing what we all know, what even bothers us intimately, but we still try to get out of our sight because it is easier that way. Lupinism has 'Cojones' to say publicly what we all think - wrote the art critic Igor Maroević on Lupino’s works.
