The program was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia. This year, among the seventeen contestants, the winner is a clarinettist Branimir Norac, who, besides the symbolic cash prize, and the statue of Maestro Vinko Lesić, work of the academic sculptor Kažimir Hraste, is also awarded by a concert to be performed at the Split Summer Festival. Accompanied on piano by the award-winning Dalija Šaban and guest performances of his acclaimed clarinet colleagues, Ivana Bandalo and Mislav Norac, this year’s laureate will present himself also as a composer, since besides the clarinet compositions by Debussy, Poulenc and Bernstein he will perform two of his own compositions as well.
