Giuseppe Verdi

One of the most impressive Split opera productions of recent years, Verdi's Aida, returns to the Split Summer Festival, to Peristyle which is its spectacular "natural" ambiance. Premiered in the summer of 2014, Aida immediately won over the audience and the critique by excellent performances as well as production and visual extravagance.

What is Split Summer Festival, if it is without Aida on Peristyle? Most performed opera on this imperial square seems to coalesce with the Festival and with the ambiance, and its latest staging in 2014, sixty years after the first performance of Aida at the Split Summer Festival, due to performances, set and costume design, left the fascinated audience breathless.

The audience of 63rd Split Summer Festival will enjoy again, this time in the most magnificent Aida Split has ever seen - maestro Ivo Lipanović will conduct the Opera with masterful direction by Dražen Siriščević. Bulgarian artist Cvetelina Vasileva, who won over the Split audience as Turandot last year, will play the title role, while the role of Radamès is entrusted to one of the most interesting tenors of today's music scene, Zoran Todorovich.
