The End

Exhibition The End of a renowned Croatian photographer, academic cameraman and master of photography, Ante Verzotti, is a melancholic hommage to his profession and craftsmanship.

The End

Inspired by the lyrics by Jim Morrison from the famous song The End (The Doors), Verzotti introduces us to his grand finale, to the end he forebodes. "This is the end, beautiful friend, this is the end, my only friend, the end of our elaborate plans, the end of everything that stands, the end ...".And while Morrison might have thought of someone, Verzotti is in this case talking to his camera implying the end of a symbiosis, a companionship, a common journey through life. The author foresees that he will no longer observe and record the world through his lens, honouring thus, with this exhibition, his vocation without hesitating to personify the object that accompanied him for so many years. The exhibition consists of three pieces: The Town in Grey, The Story Never Told and Noon. The suggestive motive of an end is recognisable on certain photographs that faithfully communicate the inner states of the author.
