Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov and Ana Marija Veselčić, drama artists of the Croatian National Theatre Split, have won awards at this year's 73rd Pula Film Festival.
Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov received the Golden Arena for Best Actress for the title role in the film Koke, dedicating her award to her late colleague Dara Vukić. Ana Marija Veselčić received the Breza Award for Best Debut Actress for her role in the film God Will Not Help.
Their awards confirm what Split audiences already know, that the drama ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre Split is made up of actresses and actors whose artistic strength reaches far beyond the theatre stage.
Split audiences will soon have the opportunity to see them take on a major new challenge: both appear in the theatre's new production, Herscht 07769, based on the novel by László Krasznahorkai and directed by Ivica Buljan, premiering on 29 July as part of the 72nd Split Summer Festival.
