The Beret

The Beret

On the surface, it is a humorous, seemingly everyday human story about mistaken identity and the amusing misunderstandings that arise from it. At its core, however, it is a profound analysis of human relationships in a contemporary, alienated world and of people’s need for a “kindred spirit.”

Although this drama does not aspire to grand themes, instead dealing with a very small, deeply human fear—the fear of long-awaited happiness, its reach is nevertheless significant. To overcome fear, to give oneself a chance, to dare to take that decisive step toward happiness and fulfilment, this is a treasure that many, constrained by fear, have let slip away.
