A Production of Hamlet in the Village of Mrduša Donje

hamlet u mrduši donjoj

Stage: Carrara Square

One of the most infuential Croatian texts from the twentieth century and a classic for a long time, a classic that speaks about taboos and underhand dealings of socialist society, however in our transitional circumstances it has been shown in completely diferent light. It is a play about opportunists who use politics in order to manipulate human destinies and take proft for themselves that is topical even today because it shows how political systems can be changed, however, unfortunately, political primitivism remains untouched. Hamlet by Brešan is funny and biter and no mater time and political system it is played in, it is a text about us today. Parohials are still born and manage successfully.
