Marko is a handsome young man, despite his poverty. He makes a living by diving for shells while also exploring the sea depths in search of lost ancient treasure. Many girls admire him from afar, but his poverty is not appealing. A chance encounter with the beautiful Anka awakens in Marko the desire to prove that he is worthy of the girl's love. A Dalmatian take on Romeo and Juliet, twenty-two minutes of sea, sun, and song.

This short film, about the impossible love of a poor young man for a beautiful girl, was shot in Split and its surrounding areas. It starred one of the great sports stars of the time, Miro Mihovilović, with Desa Marović as his partner. The music for the film was composed by Ivo Tijardović.

The wealthy heiress Didi Oršić is spending her vacation in Split. Her fiancé gives her a speedboat for her birthday, but she experiences a minor accident with it. She is saved by hydro-pilot Marko Vuković, who takes her to Zlarin. There, with the help of his father and his adopted daughter Anka, he tries to modernise the process of coral harvesting. Didi and Marko fall in love, but their journey to happiness will be filled with many intrigues and love-social turbulences.

Filming of this cult movie began in June 1937 in Split and continued in Trogir, Kaštela, on Hvar, Drvenik, and Zlarin. The music for the film was composed by Ivo Tijardović.
