Directed by Dražen Krešić, the mythical Judith will come to life on the atmospheric stage at Marjan through the interpretation of Katarina Romac.
In a bold interaction with the audience, Katarina Romac powerfully conveyed the emotion of fear—a fear from which begins the gradual mastery of one’s thoughts and the listening for God’s will, which cannot be escaped. And though difficult to comprehend, the dodecasyllabic verses she speaks with reverence and awe become, in her performance, both strong and clear—heavy for a reason, as they evoke the weight of the situation they describe and from which they arise. The monotony of the double rhyme, in the middle and at the end of each distich, seems in a way to mark the long and monotonous duration of hardship: life flows slowly, sorrows repeat, hope seems lost, yet existence endures—sustained solely by the immense strength of the people and the innate human desire to survive.
