Croatian National Theatre Split Presented its Awards

The Croatian National Theatre Split commemorates the 131st anniversary of the grand opening of its theater building, where it continues to operate. This historic date holds special significance for the culture of the city, Dalmatia, and Croatia. In honor of this day, the HNK Split established awards for outstanding artistic achievements and declared May 6th as the Croatian National Theatre Split Day.

The awards were determined by a committee consisting of Vanesa Kleva, Bruna Reić, Feđa Klarić, Saša Kraljević, as well as the artistic directors of the Theatre, Ivan Srbljan, Ivan Plazibat, and Pedro Carneiro. The awards were presented to the recipients by the Mayor of Split, Ivica Puljak, and the intendant of HNK Split, Vicko Bilandžić.

The Ivo Tijardović Award was granted to the leading actress of HNK Split, Arijana Čulina, for her outstanding artistic achievements in any theatrical genre and her overall contribution to HNK Split. The committee's justification for the award highlights her exceptional comedic timing and scene rhythm, noting her ability to connect with the audience wherever she performs.

The Marko Fotez Award was bestowed upon Nives Ivanković, the leading actress of the Drama department of HNK Split, for her remarkable achievements in the theatrical program over the past two seasons. Her wide range of roles, from ancient comedy to contemporary tragedy, showcases her versatility and depth as an actress.

Mate Akrap, the soloist of the Opera of HNK Split, received the Ante Marušić Award for his exceptional performances in opera over the previous two seasons. His interpretations of various challenging roles demonstrate his vocal maturity, technical skill, and emotional depth.

Hazuki Tanase, a soloist of the Split Ballet, was honored with the Ana Roje Award for her outstanding artistic achievements in ballet over the past two seasons. Her delicate and precise movements captivated audiences in roles such as Daisy Buchanan in "The Great Gatsby."

Barbara Bourek, the costume designer, received the Rudolf Bunk Award for her exceptional work in costume design, scenography, lighting design, and overall artistic contribution to HNK Split over the past two seasons. Her designs for "Capuleti i Montecchi" perfectly complemented the opera's narrative and characterizations, leaving the audience in awe of her meticulous attention to detail.
